- Local Shopping, Less Travel: Having fresh produce in the heart of the village reduces the need for long-distance travel, encouraging more frequent visits and less food waste.
- Loose Produce: We offer as much of our produce as possible loose, allowing you to buy only what you need and avoid single-use plastics.
- Minimizing Waste: We discount produce nearing its shelf life and work with people to turn excess produce into soups, stews, and bakes. Any vegetable waste is either composted locally by bicycle or fed to local pigs.
- Plant-Based Options: Many of our ready-made soups and stews are plant-based, and we stock British-grown grains and pulses from Hodmedod’s to help reduce your carbon footprint.
- Local Produce: We offer a space for locally grown produce from village gardeners and grow our own potted basil. We’re always excited to add more home-grown items to our range.
- Energy-Efficient Refrigeration: Our new True Refrigeration chillers keep produce fresh for longer, with some of the highest energy-efficiency ratings on the market.
- Refill stations: We offer refills for liquid items such as washing liquid and shower gel to minimise unnecessary packaging.
